It’s hard to believe the now post-Federline train wreck was actually once appealing – think circa 1998 during her “Baby One More Time” years. Two children and one bald head later, Spears has lost any charm she previously had.

Senior Liana Boghosian’s thoughts? “I feel for bad for her. I think our society is making her act the way she does. I would say Britney was crazy if it was just her acting this way, but there are a lot of celebrities in Hollywood who act the same.” Despite her chaotic personal life, Spears released Blackout, her fifth album, this past October. Headlined by the song “Gimme More,” the album was a success. Critics – surprisingly – responded positively; Digital Spy labeled the album “the most danceable, modern and thrilling album that Spears has ever made.”

Yet still, Spears’ horrendous live performance at the VMAs hindered her chance of a comeback anytime soon.

While Spears has talent, I still can’t help but wonder: why do people still give a shit about her personal life? Without embarking on a full-fledged guilt trip, there are many other stars that use their fame/power/wealth in a different, more positive manner.

As for a comeback, until the media decides to suck the life out of someone else, Britney Spears won’t fully recover. The only question that remains is: when will the paparazzi and public grow tired of Spears?
